Baseball:

Three days after opening Del Rey League play with a 9-4 setback at Cathedral, the Lancers bounced back.

La Salle got one in the first and two more in the fourth, and held on for a 3-2 victory.

While the game was played at Cathedral, the Lancers were considered the home team.

For some reason, Arcadia County Park still hasn’t cleared anyone to play on the field in spite of the fact that literally everyone else is hosting games safely throughout the SGV.

Val Gomez went the first three innings and allowed one run on three hits.

Jacob Escamilla was credited with the win, after going 2 2/3 innings
and allowing one run on three hits.

Doug Pyle earned the save by getting the final four outs without any further damage.

Pyle also singled and doubled in the win.

Escamilla had an RBI single.

Evan Nahra singled, scored and drove in a run for the Lancers.

David Mysza went 1-for-3 on Thursday.

Adrian Beltre Jr singled and scored.

Up next: La Salle will meet up for a third time at Cathedral on Saturday.
