Chaffey College secured a 10-0 regular season record after Saturday’s 48-7 blowout of Victor Valley.
The Panthers defense pitched a shutout.
VVC’s only points of the game came via a 37-yard pick-six by VVC’s Elijah Smith in the second quarter.
The ass-kicking stats include advantages by Chaffey in first downs (33-8), total offense (622-153), rushing (309-10) and passing (313-143).
Dereun Dortch shined again.
Dortch completed 21-of-30 for 313 yards.
He tossed five TD passes and was picked once.
Darrin Thomas (20-yard TD), William Davis (55 & 21), Jayson Cortes (11) and Damien Allala (10) accounted for the five receiving TD’s.
Jayson Cortes gained 131 yards on 16 carries, including a TD run of 15 yards.
Davis caught four passes for 113 yards.
Jeremiah Beck had five receptions for 67 yards.
Corey Cabriales reeled in six passes for 59 yards.
Terryus Gibson closed out the Chaffey scoring with his 3-yard TD run.
Syrano Ware and Saadite Green had five tackles apiece to lead the Panthers defense.
Ronald Williams totaled four tackles, one sack, and a pick that he returned 20 yards.
Up next: It looks like PCC and Chaffey will meet up for a second time this season.
On September 30th, the Panthers defeated the Lancers, 31-21, in a battle of 5-0 programs.
