Football:
San Dimas will head into their bye week with some momentum.
After a disappointing home loss last Thursday to Monrovia, the Saints bounced back and did so in dominating fashion.
SDHS controlled their host from Don Lugo throughout Friday’s 31-0 victory.
The SDHS defense never let the Conquistadores even sniff an idea of making a comeback.
Caleb Morquecho scored on second-quarter runs of 8-and-4-yard to give the Saints a 12-0 lead.
With two seconds remaining in the half, Nathan Almaraz rumbled into the end zone from three yards out to give the Saints an 18-0 advantage.
Almaraz would score again from 10 yards out in the third.
And Jacob Gonzalez capped the night with a 2-yard TD run.
Brian Jackson picked off two passes for the SDHS defense.
Up next: The Saints will take next week off and then host Northview (6-1) on Friday, October 13th, in the Valle Vista League opener.
