Baseball:
It was a very good day for the Crescenta Valley baseball program.
First, the Falcons found out that Burbank had defeated Arcadia, 9-2.
And CV scored 10 runs in the final three innings to secure a 10-3 victory over their host from Burroughs.
With two to play, Crescenta Valley takes a one-game lead into their two-game Pacific League set with Arcadia.
Connor Cambell’s 32-inning scoreless streak came to an end in the first due to an error.
But as usual, Campbell finished what he started.
He surrendered one earned run on eight hits.
Campbell didn’t issue a walk and fanned a pair of Burroughs batters.
Nate Chapman went 3-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
Lucas Beltran had two singles, and Bryan Martinez doubled.
Beltran got the loss.
He allowed eight runs (three earned) on six hits.
Beltran went 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five CV batters.
Dash Schultz went 2-for-4 with a double, run and two RBIs.
Jake Deno singled twice, scored and had an RBI.
Ryan Ivanyi went 2-for-5 and scored.
Tyler Garland walked twice and scored two runs.
Jimmy Spears walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Everett Pam walked and scored.
Nico Terenzi walked with the bases loaded.
Up next: CV travels to Arcadia on Tuesday, and host the Apaches on Friday.
Both games are set for 7.
