South Hills continues to inch closer and closer to its sixth Hacienda League championship in seven years.
The Huskies improved to 7-0 in league play after Wednesday’s 5-0 victory over visiting Diamond Bar.
With three games to play, South Hills holds a two-game lead over second-place Walnut, and they just secured the two-game sweep of the Mustangs last week.
Sterling Patick went six scoreless innings and surrendered just three hits.
Patick walked a pair and struck out 11 Brahmas.
Daniel Camou got the final three outs, including one via strikeout.
Jake Mestas had two of Diamond Bar’s three hits, and Maddox Bernardino had the other.
Ryan Lewis got the loss, allowing three runs on 10 hits over five innings.
Lewis didn’t issue a walk and fanned three.
Steven Jimenez singled, tripled and scored.
Paul Vazquez doubled and scored.
Marcos Rosales singled, scored and had an RBI.
Noah Malone singled and had an RBI.
Dom Prieto and Gabe Martinez singled and scored one run apiece.
Malaki Pelayo went 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Luke Bauer went 2-for-3, and Matt Moreno singled in Wednesday’s win.
