Baseball:

It’s been exactly two weeks since Charter Oak last won a baseball game.

To be fair, they’ve only played twice over that stretch and the program finally got a chance to go out and change course on Friday.

And it took a four-hit shutout by senior Chris Ceballos to get the job done.

Ceballos went the distance, didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven to lead Charter Oak to a 1-0 victory.

He needed just 74 pitches to get the job done.

Ryan Galvan had half of Santa Fe’s four hits.

Brandon Aranda had the other half, including a double.

Joey Peralta pitched well enough to win.

He went six innings and allowed the one run on four hits.

Peralta didn’t walk anyone and struck out five.

Chris Sanchez singled and stole second in the bottom of the seventh inning.

And Aaron Osorio’s walk-off base hit down the third-base line brought Sanchez home.

Ethan Milleson and Zack Bauer singled for the Chargers.
