Girls Basketball:
Glendora traveled to Claremont on Thursday night to open Palomares League action.
It was a battle of the No. 3 (CHS) and No. 7 (GHS) teams in the most recent CIF-SS Division 2A poll.
The Tartans had a nine-point lead at the break, and held on to defeat Claremont, 45-41, to hand the Wolfpack their first loss of the season.
Brianna Gomez led Glendora with 14 points, while Rylie Anderson chipped in with 12 points.
Chloe Ogamba had a game-high 16 points for Claremont.
The Wolfpack got 12 from Maryah Anderson and Jordy DeMott contributed 10 points in the loss.
Up next: Glendora faces Azusa on Monday and Claremont battles Newport Harbor on Tuesday.
