Boys Basketball:
Two days after opening the 2022-23 season with an 18-point loss to Walnut, Ayala was back at it on Friday.
And the Bulldogs would pick up win No. 1, thanks to a 69-54 victory over Charter Oak.
Emilio Varner led the way with 19 points and seven rebounds.
Linus Lo contributed 16 points and a pair of rebounds.
Dylan Victorio added 14 points and 10 boards.
And Luke Williams chipped in with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Up next: Ayala will open play at the San Gabriel High School Thanksgiving Tournament on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs face Gardena at 3:20.
