Boys Athlete of the Week:
On Friday night, David Mysza had the best statistical game of his high school career.
The La Salle quarterback and his boys made a 242-mile roundtrip bus ride to and from Bakersfield.
The Lancers got back to their Pasadena campus around midnight, but you won’t hear any complaints from their players.
LSHS found itself in a 14-0 hole on Friday night, but Ben Buys’ program would go on to outscore East Bakersfield, 41-7, the rest of the way.
Mysza threw for 345 yards and six TD passes.
And to top it off, he also scored on a 2-point conversion.
Myzsa found Mauricio Pavon and Aiden Leyland for three TD’s apiece.
Although he’s been injured and has missed some time, his six TD passes on Friday more than doubles his season totals through week four.
Since opening the season 0-2, La Salle has won three of its last four games.
Up next: La Salle will host St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Thursday to open Del Rey League play.
The Warriors (4-1) did not play in week five.
Del Rey League Standings:
St. Pius (4-1 overall, 0-0 in league)
Harvard Westlake (3-2, 0-0)
La Salle (3-3, 0-0)
St. Anthony (2-3, 0-0)
St. Genevieve (1-4, 0-0)
