Football:
The 2022 victory tour continued on Saturday for the Charter Oak football program.
The Chargers dropped the hammer in a 55-7 beatdown of South Hills at Covina District Field.
It’s the first time COHS has opened the season 4-0 since 2017.
Charter Oak has outscored Northview, Glendora, Chino Hills and South Hills by a combined margin of 146-53.
And the COHS offense, which is averaging 37 points per game, continues to run smoothly behind La Salle transfer Richie Munoz.
The Chargers quarterback threw for north of 300 yards.
Munoz tossed six TD passes to six different receivers.
Solomon Davis, Isaiah Johnson, Jacob Hernandez, Zakkarii Black, Seth Buchanan and Jayden Alexander all reeled in TD throws from Munoz.
The COHS senior now has over 1,000 yards passing, 15 TD’s, and just two picks.
Zakkarii Black scored a pair of rushing TD’s in Saturday’s win.
Freshman Corin Berry replaced Munoz at quarterback, and threw a TD pass to Darius Gilchrist.
Up next: COHS travels to West Covina this coming Friday.
The Bulldogs (2-3) are coming off a 28-27 loss at winless Valencia of Placentia.
