Football:
Eight days after a gut-punching 36-35 loss to visiting Monrovia in OT, the Bearcats were back on the field.
Bonita made a 244-mile drive to the Mater Academy in East Las Vegas.
And if having 50-plus teenagers in Vegas on a Friday night isn’t challenging enough, the Bearcats had a 10 am kickoff on Saturday morning.
Bonita, however, had zero distractions, as they got out to an early 21-point lead in the first quarter.
BHS would cruise to a 38-6 victory in a game that saw the JV squad play most of the second half.
Daniel Andrade threw four TD passes, which gives the senior eight in the first two games.
Travis Lippert came in and threw a TD of his own.
Georgie Markossian had a pair of receiving TD’s for Bonita.
Ryder Cadam, Noah Mikhail and Bryan Bradshaw each caught a scoring pass on Saturday morning.
The BHS defense forced four fumbles and Noah Mikhail led the charge with seven first-half tackles.
Up next: Bonita will travel to La Salle on Thursday night.
The Lancers (0-2) are coming off a 30-20 loss at Village Christian.
Quotable:
Bonita sophomore, Noah Mikhail: “I think we bounced back very well. We really shook it off and had a great week at practice. The road trip was great, I felt like it really made us closer as a team and it was a great experience. I think we just played well in general this week, as everyone was excited and ready to play.”
