After the first game of the 2022 season, the Maranatha football program has already matched its win total of a year ago.
The Minutemen got out to an early 28-0, first-quarter lead, and cruised to a 42-6 victory over their visitors from Beverly Hills.
Michael Martin, the MHS quarterback, tossed a pair of TD passes, and ran for two more.
Connor Patterson caught both of Martin’s TD passes.
Miles O’Malley rushed for two Maranatha scores.
Jake Neely picked off a Beverly Hills pass, and Carter Shupper racked up two sacks.
Sophomore Owen Maleka went 6-for-6 on his extra-point attempts.
Up next: MHS travels to Garey on Friday evening.
The Vikings (0-2) were on the wrong end of a 47-14 beatdown by Pomona.
