Baseball:
After a pair of CIF-SS Division 3 playoff wins, La Sierra ended Charter Oak’s season on Friday.
Preston Anderson went six innings and allowed just an unearned run on three hits in the Eagles’ 5-2 victory at COHS.
Anderson walked three and fanned a pair of GHS batters.
Taer Rodriguez allowed one run on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Anthony Vasquez singled and hit a solo home run for the Chargers.
Daniel Hirota had an RBI single.
Samuel Morales waked and scored.
Chris Gonzalez walked and singled.
Alejandro Blanquet doubled, and Dave Montoya singled in Friday’s loss.
Anthony Vasquez was charged with the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on five hits.
Vasquez went 3 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out three La Sierra batters.
Diego Ortiz surrendered just one run on three hits over his 3 1/3 innings of work.
Jesse Espinoza walked, singled twice, doubled, scored a pair of runs and had an RBI.
Nick Velazquez singled and had two RBIs.
Kai Chang, Taer Rodriguez and Alex Gamez singled and scored one run apiece.
