Flintridge Prep trailed visiting Highland, 8-0, as they grabbed their bats in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Wolves got five runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and scored three seventh-inning runs to claim a 10-9 victory in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs.
In fact, the Wolves got three runs on three hits and three walks off Caleb Montemayor without the Highland pitcher retiring a single batter in the final frame.
Darren Roberts was roughed up for seven runs on nine hits in his six innings of work.
Roberts walked two and struck out five FP batters.
Spencer Seid’s two-run double got the Wolves even at 9-9 and Brian Xiu’s RBI singled scored Seid with the game-winning run.
Xiu finished with three singles, a run and the RBI.
Will Koh walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Graham DesHotel walked, singled and scored.
Josh Beserra singled, doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
JR Kully walked, tripled, scored and had two RBIs.
Max Brunngraber walked, singled, scored and drove in one run.
Nick Gonzalez singled, scored and had one RBI.
Highland got eight runs (seven earned) on 11 hits off Max Brunngraber.
Brunngraber went five innings, walked two and fanned three.
Josh Beserra went two innings and got the win.
He allowed one run on two hits, walked two and struck out one Highland batter.
Shea Lewis singled, tripled, drove in one run and scored twice.
William Paxton walked, singled twice, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.
Montemayor tripled and scored.
Darren Roberts and Carter Wood singled, scored and had one RBI apiece.
Luke Manzano went 2-for-4, with an RBI and scored once.
Tony Cano had three singles, a run and one RBI.
Christian Arreola singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Up next: Flintridge Prep will travel to top-seeded Aquinas on Tuesday.
The Falcons (26-2) defeated Barstow, 6-0, in their first-round game.
