Brianna Marquez and her fellow Eagles have had quite the 2021-22 season.
Marshall Fundamental went undefeated en route to a Mission Valley League championship (13-0).
And now the Eagles find themselves in the semifinal round of the CIF-SS Division 5 playoffs after two postseason wins this past week.
On Wednesday, Marshall thumped Covina, 7-0, in a second-round contest.
Marquez scored three goals (first, fourth and sixth) and chipped in an assist on a goal by Sara Hernandez.
On Saturday, the Eagles made a 107-mile trek to Palm Springs.
And Marquez’s free kick from 40 yards out in the second half was the difference in a 1-0 victory.
Up next: Marshall will host Viewpoint (12-6-1) on Wednesday, and with a trip to the D-5 final on the line.
