Charter Oak picked up its first victory of 2022.
Anthony Vasquez went the first five innings to earn the win, and the Chargers defeated California, 6-0, on Wednesday.
Vasquez allowed just one hit, walked a batter and struck out eight.
Jacob Gonzalez gave the Chargers two perfect innings of relief, including a strikeout.
Angel Miranda had Cal High’s lone hit.
Adrian Hernandez was stuck with the loss.
Hernandez surrendered five runs (four earned) on four hits.
He walked four and struck out seven COHS batters in his 3 2/3 innings.
Nathan Arevalos singled, scored and drove in three runs.
Diego Ortiz doubled and had two RBIs.
Chris Gonzalez went 3-for-3 and scored twice.
Ezekial Escalera walked, tripled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Vasquez walked and scored to help his own cause.
