Boys Basketball:
South El Monte ruined senior night at Marshall Fundamental.
SEM, the fifth-place team in the Mission Valley League, outscored Marshall, 37-19, in the second and third quarters, and cruised to a 51-29 victory.
In a battle of Eagles, the boys from Pasadena only had one quarter with double digits in points, which was a 12-point second quarter.
Alonzo Acosta led Marshall with 10 points.
Jacob Hernandez, Vazion Boone and Armen Darakchyan chipped in four points apiece.
South El Monte’s Uriel Ramirez had a game-high 24 points.
Joshua Robles added 14 points in the win.
Up next: The Eagles will travel to Mountain View on Friday to close out the regular season.
Marshall has already clinched second place in the MVL, but they’d surely like to enter next week’s playoffs with some momentum.
