Last week, Glendora played its worst offensive game of the year in a 14-6 loss to Alta Loma.
On Friday night, the Tartans ‘O’ got their (stuff) together, the defense was solid again, and GHS cruised to a 36-7 victory over their visitors from Fountain Valley.
The game didn’t begin until approximately 7:30 after the Barons bus didn’t arrive to Citrus College until approximately 6:30.
When Glendora is playing their brand of football, they get scoring from a number of players.
And that was the case on Friday.
Five separate Tartans scored a touchdown and Nick Norell booted a 44-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
GHS led 26-0 before Fountain Valley’s Drake Robinson caught a 12-yard TD pass from Isaac Combs with 44 seconds remaining in the first half.
Sebastian Lawrence, who was picked three times last week, completely flipped the script against FVHS.
Lawrence completed 13-of-19 for 240 yards.
He tossed three touchdowns and didn’t turn the ball over.
Carson Kassotis caught a 12-yard TD pass from Sebastian Lawrence, followed by a 60 yarder to Tyson Rush and Cole Van Woerkom reeled in a 9-yard scoring strike in the third quarter.
Cole Ellis and Johnny Jabbour had 2-yard TD runs in the win.
Ellis carried the ball 15 times for 90 yards.
Jabbour gained 45 yards on six carries.
Rush caught four passes for 102 yards.
Kassotis totaled 52 yards on three receptions.
Van Woerkom had three catches for 63 yards.
James Mason picked a pass for the Tartans defense.
Up next: The Tartans will take the next week off, and they’ll open Sierra League play on October 1st at Covina District Field to battle Northview.

GHS quarterback, Sebastian Lawrence: “It’s nice to go into the bye week with a win. We felt we could move the ball all night. I’m the most competitive guy on the field, so I’m really hard on myself, and last week, I was very frustrated with how I played. Tonight, we just simplified what we were doing offensively and we executed our game plan. Our offensive line blocked their asses off and they never complain. They just do their job and do it to the best of their ability. We want to get everyone healthy over the break, and I’d like to see us minimize the penalties. The personal fouls and a lack of discipline is something we can’t afford in league games. We also can’t turn the ball over and we have to be able to sustain drives, so we can give our defense a break. Through the first five games, our defense has played fantastic and our running backs and receivers have really stepped up. Any of them can score any time.”
