Volleyball:
The Palomares League is about as competitive as it gets.
After three matches apiece, Bonita, Ayala, Claremont and Glendora are tied in first place, and Walnut is just one-game back of the Bearcats, Bulldogs, Wolfpack and Tartans.
BHS outlasted visiting DBHS in five on Thursday night.
They secured the win by scores of 25-23, 18-25, 25-12, 23-25 and 15-12.
Sophie Silva sparked the Bearcats offensive attack with 16 kills and an ace.
Kyra Amaya chipped in with 12 kills and a pair of blocks.
