Rivalry Notes Provided by SDHS:
The Tradition of “The Ace” Trophy For over a decade, the rivalry between San Dimas High School and Bonita High School has been one of the most electric interdistrict battles in the area.
Every time these programs share a court, the stakes couldn’t be higher as they fight for bragging rights and “The Ace” trophy.
While the mid-to-late 2010s saw a back-and-forth war with momentum shifting yearly, the tide has turned dramatically.
Since taking over as head coach four seasons ago, our program has built a culture of relentless grit—a formula that has kept “The Ace” safely in San Dimas for four consecutive years.
Game Recap: Saints Secure Four in a Row Last night’s annual showdown proved why this rivalry is pure magic, as the Saints fought off a determined Bearcat squad for a thrilling 3-1 victory.
Set 1: Trailing 16-12, the Saints refused to panic. Behind disciplined defense and aggressive serving, San Dimas closed on a 13-5 run to flip the set and take it 25-21.
Set 2: Bonita built a daunting 22-13 cushion, but the Saints mounted a massive late rally. While the comeback fell just short at 25-22, the surge shifted the momentum back to our side of the net.
Set 3: The third frame was an absolute heavyweight slugfest with both teams trading blows down the stretch. San Dimas executed under pressure in the tightest moments to prevail 25-21.
Set 4: With “The Ace” within reach, the Saints exploded into the fourth frame with unmatched energy, dominating every facet of the game to cruise to a decisive 25-11 finish and seal the match.
