LOHS Walked 15 & Still Escaped Damien w/a 12-9 Victory in 8 Innings; Grizzlies Hit 2-Grand Slams, Including One Inside-the-Park

Baseball:

After a brutal start to the season and Baseline League play, Los Osos finished third in league after taking two of three against second-place Damien.

And that included Wednesday’s 12-9 victory at DHS in eight innings.

LOHS saw its 8-2 lead disappear, but they scored four times in the top of the eighth inning.

Kyle Humphrey went two innings and he was charged with two runs on four hits.

Humphrey walked four and fanned three.

Aedan Holloway surrendered two runs on one hit and four walks over 2 1/3 innings.

Holloway registered two strikeouts.

Damien got to Avery Cube for four runs on two hits in four walks over one inning.

Hudson Kunzman went 2 1/3 innings, and he allowed one run on one hit.

Kunzman walked three and struck out one batter.

Presten Young got the final out of the game.

Elius Kelley scored a pair of runs, had a two-run single, a two-run home run and an RBI ground out.

Jackson Annigain drew a pair of walks singled and scored two runs.

Nico Vasquez walked and scored.

Gino Tarzia drew four walks and tripled in a run.

Brady Bickham walked, singled twice and scored.

Ryan Gonzalez drew a pair of walks, singled, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Bennett Ramirez singled and scored.

Tyler Swilling walked and scored.

Jacob Campos was roughed up for eight runs on seven hits over three innings.

Campos walked one and struck out one.

Bryce Eddy provided two scoreless and hitless innings, didn’t walk a batter and struck out three.

Gavin Ochoa went one scoreless inning, allowing two hits and striking out one.

Ethan Chavez got the loss after surrendering four runs (three earned) on two hits and a pair of walks over two innings.

Max Pula went 2-for-4 with an inside-the-park grand slam in the top of the eighth inning.

Taylor Chairez singled, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Aaron Rojas singled twice and scored.

Dominic Rodriguez hit a grand slam in the second inning to give Los Osos a 7-2 lead.

Presten Young had an RBI double, scored and drove in a second run on a sac fly.

Moses Lanza, Jordan Mejico and Andrew Castellon singled and scored.

Jacob Pimentel walked and scored.

Austin Ziello and Bryce Anderson had one hit, one run and an RBI apiece.

Derrick Young singled in the win.
