Maranatha Defeated Valencia, 9-3, to Extend Current Win Streak to 15 Games; Kaleb Derosier Went 3-for-4 w/Double & 3 RBIs

Baseball:

The Maranatha win streak extended to 15 games on Tuesday.

The Minuteman trailed 3-2 before scoring four runs in the bottom of the fifth and they got three more in the sixth to secure a 9-3 victory over Valencia.

MHS out-hit VHS, 13-7.

Mikey Herman went three innings and he was charged with three runs on four hits.

Herman walked three and fanned a pair of Valencia batters.

Kaden Lai earned the win after going four scoreless innings and scattering three hits.

Lai issued one walk and registered four strikeouts.

Brady Ruffner tripled and scored.

Justin Gaisford singled twice and doubled.

Zach Davis went 2-for-4 with a double, run and one RBI.

Evan Conrad drew a pair of walks and scored.

Santino Cascione drove in a run on a sac fly.

Dylan Lapa singled for VHS.

Tennysen Enneking went three innings and he surrendered just one run on five hits.

Enneking didn’t walk a batter and struck out a pair of Minutemen.

Jordan Ramos got the loss after allowing four runs on four hits and a hit batter in 2/3 of an inning.

Trevor Rivas singled twice, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Kaleb Derosier went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs.

That included an RBI single and a two-run double in the third and sixth innings, respectively.

Will Suslow and Jayden Morales singled and scored one run apiece.

Bryce Geeting walked and doubled.

Gabe Barragan’s two-run single in the bottom of the fifth gave MHS their first lead at 4-3.

Yahir Treto went 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI single.

Lukus Perez singled, scored and had an RBI ground out.

Up next: The Minutemen travel to Cypress on Wednesday at 3:15 to close out the regular season.
