Cypress Scored Five Times in Bottom of Fifth Inning to Secure a 7-5 Victory Over PCC in Game One of 3C2A Playoffs

College Baseball:

Trailing 4-1, Cypress scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and they’d hold on for a 7-5 victory over Pasadena City College in game one of the double-elimination playoff series at Citrus College.

The Chargers out-hit the Lancers, 11-7.

Jonathan Bracamonte got the loss after surrendering six runs (five earned) on nine hits over five innings.

Bracamonte issued two walks, registered three strikeouts and allowed two home runs.

Matt Garcia provided three innings of relief and allowed one run on two hits.

Ben Keisler went 3-for-4 with two runs and a solo home run.

Gavin Johnson hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Derek Gonzales singled twice and scored.

Ty Peters walked and singled.

Tyler Smith doubled in two runs and scored.

Travis Curry singled, doubled and scored.

Izaiah Posada double in a run in the eighth.

Justin Tillar walked and scored.

Mason Miles got the win after going 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on three hits.

Miles didn’t walk a batter and fanned two.

Joshue Sayre earned the save after providing two scoreless innings and allowing one hit.

Joey Ramos had an RBI single, an RBI double and a sac fly.

Joaquin Salcedo hit a solo home run in the fifth.

Logan Parker walked, singled and scored.

Luke Bauer singled, doubled and scored.

Isaac Ton walked and scored.

Jacob Escamilla had an RBI ground out.

Xiovany Ochoa walked and singled.
