Apr 30 2026 04:05:04

College Baseball:

Citrus College will host Pasadena and Cypress in the first round of the 3C2A playoffs starting on Friday morning.

The three-day event runs through Sunday, and it features a double-elimination format.

PCC and Cypress meet up on Friday morning at 11 am.

The loser of that game battles Citrus at 3.

On paper, Citrus looks to be the favorite, including the privilege of hosting the first round.

But the Owls are well aware that nothing in the postseason is a given.

Citrus is 2-0 against Cypress this season, and they split their two games with PCC.

The Chargers and the Lancers met up in the season opener for both programs, and Cypress secured an 8-3 home victory.

The Owls enter the postseason on an 11-game win streak, while the Chargers have won three in a row and the Lancers finished the regular season with an 11-5 victory over LA Pierce.

Citrus has a .328 team batting average as compared to Cypress (.297) and PCC (.290).

The Owls team ERA stands at 4.73, in comparison with the Chargers (5.11) and Lancers (6.10).

Citrus has scored 56 more runs than Cypress and 78 more than PCC.

The Owls have totaled 48 home runs, the Chargers have 41 and the Lancers have gone deep six times in 2026.
