Baseball:
Etiwanda secured an outright Baseline League championship on Wednesday.
The Eagles cruised to a 14-2 victory over their visitors from Rancho Cucamonga.
With three games to play, EHS has a 3.5 lead over second-place Damien.
Etiwanda wrapped up the three-game Baseline League of the Cougars after two wins this week, and one back on March 11th.
EHS scored eight runs in the bottom of the third inning and the result was never in doubt.
Michael Aleman earned the win after going six innings and allowing two runs on five hits.
Aleman didn’t issue a walk and registered seven strikeouts.
Landon Durmisevich got the final three outs, including two via strikeout.
Rowan Suchanek went 2-for-3, including an RBI single in the top of the third inning to give RCHS a 1-0 lead.
Trevor Newman hit a solo home run in the fourth.
Richie Duran singled, doubled and scored.
Mason Sanchez got the loss after surrendering seven runs on three hits and six walks.
Sanchez struck out three.
Etiwanda got to Tanner Henne for five runs on six hits over two innings.
Henne walked three and fanned one.
Adam Ornelas went 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.
Peyton Ramos singled twice and scored three times.
LJ Roellig went 2-for-3 with a pair of walks, two runs and two RBIs.
Derick Kim drew a pair of walks, scored three runs and drove in three.
Angel Mejia went 1-for-3 with two walks, one run and two RBIs.
Jaxson Milius singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
James Milam walked, singled, scored and had an RBI ground out.
Nathan Snawder walked and scored.
Luke Severns drew a pair of walks and had an RBI single.
