Baseball:
After a two-game Valle Vista League sweep at the hands of Charter Oak last week, Northview punched back.
The Vikings thumped West Covina by scores of 14-1 and 8-1 on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
NHS enters the final two weeks in third place.
In a battle of starting pitchers named Levi, it was Levi Rosales who played a starring role.
Rosales went the distance and allowed one run on six hits and two hit batters.
He issued one walk and registered a pair of strikeouts.
The only Bulldogs run came on a double play ground out in the bottom of the first inning.
Gabriel Diaz singled and scored.
Joseph Castillo went 2-for-3.
Ryan Romero walked and singled.
Joaquin Diaz and Andrew Maldonado had one single apiece.
Levi Ruiz got the loss after surrendering five runs (three earned) on five hits, three walks and a hit batter over four innings.
NHS got to Rob Melendez for two runs on one hit, two walks and a hit matter.
Ruiz struck out one Northview batter and Melendez fanned a pair of Vikings.
Noah Martinez went 4-for-4 with a double, run and one RBI.
Isaiah Benavidez drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.
Jaime Gallardo walked, scored twice and hit a 2-run home run.
Michael Mendoza doubled in a run and scored.
Ezekiel Martinez walked and scored.
Jake Aguilar walked, singled in a run in the top of the seventh and scored.
Bobby Granados had an RBI ground out.
