Muir Hammers Glendale, 14-1, in Five Innings, to Extend Win Streak to Eight Games; Hunziker Earns Win on Mound

Baseball:

Muir won its eighth consecutive game on Tuesday.

More importantly, the Mustangs improved to 5-6 in Pacific League games after a 14-1 victory over Glendale in five innings.

Noah Hunziker earned the win after going three innings and allowing one run on one hit and a hit batter.

Hunziker issued a pair of walks and registered four strikeouts.

Thirty of his 49 pitches were strikes.

Justin Figueroa got the final six outs without allowing a run or hit.

He walked one and fanned one GHS batter.

Allen Corwin singled and scored.

Daksh Trambadia drew a bases loaded walk.

Jacob Herrera got the loss after surrendering 11 runs on eight hits, five walks and three hit batters.

Seven of Muir’s 13 base hits were extra-base hits.

Kahlil Rishwain went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, three runs and three RBIs.

Khairi Johnson singled twice, doubled, scored twice and drove in three runs.

Lawton Gray drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.

Brandon Figueroa doubled, scored and drove in three.

Bryant Soriano singled and scored.

Sergio Rodriguez was hit by pitch twice, walked, singled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

Eduardo Sosa walked and tripled in a run.

Luca Cano walked, scored and had two RBIs.

George Perez walked, tripled and scored a pair of runs.

Ezekiel Rodriguez doubled.

Up next: The Mustangs travel to Glendale on Friday to go for the two-game Pacific League sweep.
