College Baseball:
Chaffey secured its nine win of the season on Thursday.
The Panthers claimed a 7-3 victory over their visitors from Barstow in an IEAC contest.
Chaffey out-hit Barstow, 11-6, including a 3-1 advantage in extra-base hits.
Alejandro Preciado went six innings and allowed two runs on five hits to earn the win.
Preciado issued two walks and registered six strikeouts.
Tyler Cazares provided three innings in relief, and he allowed one run on one hit.
Cazares walked two and fanned one.
Josh Vaughn walked, singled and hit a solo home run.
Daichi Suzuki and Jeevan Bagri walked, singled and scored one run apiece.
Scott Hirschi walked and had an RBI single.
Derek Hommel had an RBI ground out.
Adin Vasquez went all eight for Barstow, and he was charged with seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits.
He walked four and struck out four Chaffey batters.
Grant Price walked, scored, had an RBI single, an RBI double and an RBI ground out.
Mason Danison walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Andrew Cuellar singled three times and scored three runs.
Hayden Hull went 2-for-5 with an RBI double.
Michael Saltzer walked, singled and scored.
Dylan Buzard walked and singled in a run.
David Trujillo doubled.
Kristian Gonzalez had an RBI ground out.
