Baseball:
Bonita dropped three of their first four Palomares League games.
And the Bearcats trailed their visitors from Claremont, 3-0, in the first of a two-game league series with the Wolfpack.
BHS, though, scored 10 unanswered runs and secured a 10-3 victory.
Five errors cost CHS four runs.
Brady Houlton went five innings, and he was charged with five runs (two earned) on five hits.
He issued a pair of walks and registered nine strikeouts.
BHS got to Gil Perez for four runs (three earned) on three hits in 1/3 of an inning.
Bonita scored three runs in the bottom of the third, they got two in the fourth and put the game away with five sixth-inning runs.
Parker Alexander walked, singled twice and scored three runs.
Sean Compton had an RBI double and drew a bases loaded walk.
Reed Tibbetts singled in a pair of runs in the sixth inning.
Joaquin Mendez walked, singled in a room and scored.
Judah Reeve drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Gavin Lennig singled twice and scored.
Austin Banuelos singled and scored twice.
Brady Horn drew a bases loaded walk.
Joaquin Covarrubias went 5 2/3 innings, and he was charged with three runs (one earned) on five hits.
Covarrubias issued a pair of walks and registered nine strikeouts.
Taylor Kapadia got the final four outs for Bonita.
Evan Blacksher’s two-run double in the top of the first to give Claremont a 2-0 lead.
Kai Messner walked, singled and scored two runs.
Reed Miller walked and scored.
Dane Dorman, Brady Houlton and Dean Holtan had one single apiece for the Wolfpack.
