Baseball:
San Dimas opened its three-game Hacienda League series with Los Altos in impressive form.
The Saints rode the arms of James Rocha and Logan Hopper to a 5-0 victory at SDHS.
Rocha went six strong and shutout innings and he allowed just a second-inning double to Jacob Vargas.
After the Vargas double, Rocha retired the next 12 batters.
He issued one walk and registered six strikeouts.
Logan Hopper went a scoreless and hitless seventh inning to close out the win.
Christian Ramirez got the loss after surrendering four runs (two earned) on six hits over four innings.
Ramirez walked one and fanned one SDHS batter.
Josh Calcanas walked, doubled twice, scored a pair of runs and drove in two.
Aaden Escarcega singled twice and tripled.
Noah Esquival walked and scored.
Micah Cooper singled, had an RBI double in the second and scored.
James Rocha was hit by pitch and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Up next: The Saints travel to Los Altos this afternoon for game two of the three-game series.
