Jordan Daniels Goes 4-for-5 w/Double, HR & Five RBIs in Citrus’ 11-7 WSC Victory Over Antelope Valley; Owls Sweep Marauders

College Baseball:

Citrus just pulled off the three-game Western State Conference South Division sweep of Antelope Valley.

The Owls began the week in second place with the Marauders just one-game back.

And whilst trailing in all three, Citrus secured victories of 8-7, 5-4 and 11-7.

With six games to play, the Owls trail first-place Glendale by one game.

Citrus pounded out 17 hits, including five of the extra-base variety.

Anthony Fitzpatrick went five innings, and he was charged with seven runs on 11 hits.

He issued one walk and registered five strikeouts.

Chris Lozano was saddled with the loss after surrendering three runs on four hits and one walk over two innings.

Jordan Daniels went 4-for-5 with a three-run HR, a double, two-run single and scored a pair of runs.

Dominick Torrez singled, doubled and scored twice.

Cam Casado drew a pair of walks, singled, hit a two-run HR and scored two runs.

Derek Almeda went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and three runs.

Joe Gilkeson singled twice and scored.

Jackson Gray had a pair of singles and one RBI.

Cole West singled in a run and scored.

Nick Velazquez had an RBI single in the seventh to give Citrus an 8-7 lead.

Michael Moses was charged with six runs on six hits over four innings.

Moses walked two, hit three batters and fanned four.

Garrett Patterson got the win after providing four innings of relief, and allowing one run on four hits.

Patterson issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.

Julian Hines retired the side in the ninth, including one via strikeout.

Elias Frainier hit a three-run HR in the top of the fifth to give Antelope Valley their first lead of the game at 6-5.

Jayden Steinhurst had a two-run double and scored.

Quentin Starbuck walked, hit a solo home run and scored two runs from the leadoff spot.

Cody Rollings had three singles and scored.

Gavin Klennert and Jacob Baxter singled and scored one run apiece.

Connor Baughman walked and had an RBI single in the seventh to tie the game at 7-7.

Drew Watkins walked and singled.

Up next: The Owls host LA Valley on Tuesday at 2.
