Baseball:
The Baseline League was on full display on Saturday at LoanMart Field in Rancho Cucamonga.
Chino Hills defeated Upland, 8-3, Etiwanda shut out Los Osos (10-0), and Damien dominated Rancho Cucamonga (11-1).
The Huskies, Eagles and Spartans secured three-game sweeps over the Highlanders, Grizzlies and Cougars, respectively.
In their three games, Etiwanda crushed Los Osos by a combined margin of 45-7.
Noah Frias went six shutout innings and scattered four hits to earn the win.
Frias issued three walks and registered six strikeouts.
Dylan Villegas went a scoreless seventh inning, including two strikeouts.
Wyatt Mohler walked and singled.
Mohler is now just one hit away from tying the program’s career hit record.
Moses Lanza doubled, while Aaron Ziello and Brody Gomez had one single apiece.
EHS scored three runs or more off each of the three LOHS pitchers.
Kyle Humphrey was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs on seven hits over three innings.
He issued one walk and registered four strikeouts.
Logan Rodriguez surrendered three runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning.
And Etiwanda got to Hudson Kunzman for three runs (two earned) on three hits over 2 1/3 innings.
Kunzman walked one and fanned three EHS batters.
Peyton Ramos had a pair of doubles and scored two runs.
LJ Roellig went 3-for-4 with a double, triple, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Adam Ornelas singled and scored.
Derick Kim singled, tripled in a run and scored.
Angel Mejia went 3-for-4 with a triple, three runs and three RBIs.
Frank Gonzales had an RBI single.
James Milam walked and singled.
Jaxson Milius doubled in a run in the fourth to give Etiwanda a 7-0 lead.
AJ Salazar pinch ran and scored.
Up next: The Eagles host Damien on Monday in the first of a three-game crucial Baseline League series.
