Kaleb Derosier Gets Win on Mound, Singled, Doubled & Drove in Two in Maranatha’s 11-0 Victory Over Dos Pueblos in Five Innings

Since a couple of blowout losses to Corona and Etiwanda to start the season, Maranatha has won 11 of its last 13 games.

The two setbacks have come by a total of four runs to Heritage Christian (5-4) and Crean Lutheran (3-0).

The Minutemen are currently 2-0 at the Central Coast Tournament with victories over Westlake (12-0) and Dos Pueblos (11-0) on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

On Wednesday, MHS out-hit DPHS, 12-1, including a 3-0 advantage in extra-base hits in their five-inning battle.

Kaleb Derosier got the win by going four scoreless innings and allowing just one hit.

Derosier issued three walks and registered nine strikeouts.

Of his 67 pitches, 41 were strikes.

Mikey Herman provided a scoreless and hitless inning in relief, including one strikeout.

Spencer Holtz’s leadoff single in the top of the second accounted for the Chargers offense.

Luke Jackson got the loss after surrendering eight runs on seven hits over two innings.

Jackson walked one and fanned one MHS batter.

Five separate Minutemen had two hits apiece.

Derosier had an RBI single, an RBI double and scored one run.

Will Suslow went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.

Trevor Rivas singled, doubled and scored twice.

Lukus Perez went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs and one run.

Jayden Morales walked, singled, scored twice and drove in one run.

Gabe Barragan singled, doubled, drove in three and scored a pair of runs.

Yahir Treto went 1-for-2 with a walk, run and one RBI.

Herman walked and scored.

Up next: MHS will battle Lakewood (6-13) and their legendary coach Spud O’Neil today (Thursday) at 4 in another tournament contest.
