Greyson Lorenzini Tosses a Five-Hit Shutout & Strikes Out 14 in Monrovia’s 7-0 Rio Hondo League Victory Over Temple City

Monrovia returned to the field for the first time since a 4-1 Rio Hondo League victory at La Canada on March 27th.

And the Wildcats kept their share of the RHL penthouse (with La Canada) thanks to a 7-0 victory over their visitors from Temple City.

Greyson Lorenzini tossed a five-hit shutout.

He issued two walks and registered 14 strikeouts.

Lorenzini struck out every Rams’ batter at least once.

The first four batters in the Temple City lineup went a combined 2-for-13 with nine strikeouts.

Sixty-eight of his 93 pitches were strikes.

Nate Platon, Gavin Hang, Joshua Cooper, Devon Cobb and Ricardo Quimiro had one hit apiece for the Rams.

Quimiro got the loss after allowing two runs on five hits over four innings.

He walked two and fanned one MHS batter.

The Wildcats got to Matteo Huff for three unearned runs on four hits in two innings of work.

Hoff walked one and struck out two batters.

Evan Huelster had an RBI single, a two-run single and a sac fly in the first and third innings.

Lucas Martinez walked twice and scored a pair of runs.

Troy Grise drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two times.

Braydon Blackmore walked and singled.

Micah Clauson singled and scored.

Sutton Powers, Brandon Petteruto-Shine, Kaleb Eliison and Jayden Castaneda had one single apiece in the win.

Lincoln Cabrera reached base on an error and scored.

Up next: The Wildcats travel to Temple City on Friday at 3:30.
