College Baseball:

Talk about grinding out a win.

The PCC baseball program secured a 7-6 South Coast Conference victory over their visitors from LA Harbor in the first of a three-game set with the Seahawks.

The Lancers did that in spite of totaling just two hits.

They scored twice in the eighth and ninth innings.

And the way LA Harbor surrendered those four runs is going to sting.

In the eighth, Joaquin Salcedo was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.

Logan Parker pulled PCC within 6-5 by drawing a bases loaded walk.

Trailing by one run in the bottom of the ninth, Isaac Ton walked to force in a sixth run on Tuesday.

The Lancers won on a Salcedo fielder’s choice.

Pasadena City College’s only lead of the game came in that two-run ninth inning.

Five LAHC pitchers combined to walk 10 and hit three PCC batters.

Don’t let LA Harbor’s record mislead you.

The Seahawks have conference wins over first-place El Camino and third-place Cerritos.

Ryan Torii went seven innings, and he was charged with four runs on two hits.

Torii issued five walks and registered a pair of strikeouts.

Hayden Nelson got the official loss after surrendering two runs on no hits, one walk and a hit batter.

Logan Parker had an RBI double in the second to tie the game at 1-1.

Chris Torres drew a pair of walks, had an RBI single in the third and scored.

Omar Cisneros and Xiovany Ochoa drew a pair of walks and scored two runs apiece.

Isaac Ton had a pair of walks, one run and one RBI.

AJ Flores went 3 1/3 innings for PCC, and he was charged with six runs (five earned) on seven hits and two walks.

Alex Valencia earned the win thanks to 5 2/3 scoreless innings in relief, and scattering three hits.

Valencia walked one and fanned one.

River Martinez walked, doubled and scored.

Andres Roman went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Christian Hernandez had a two-run single in the third to give the Seahawks a 3-1 advantage.

Aiden Brasher walked and scored.

Pup Ibanez-Eddy doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Alberto Gomez walked and had an RBI single.

Branden Lepe had an RBI ground out, doubled and scored.

Sam Arredondo and Jesse Cardenas had one hit apiece in Tuesday’s loss.
