Alta Loma took a 9-0 lead into the top of the fifth of Monday’s first of three with visiting San Dimas in Hacienda League play.
The Saints would score five times in the sixth, but the hole was too deep, and the Lions were able to secure a 12-5 victory.
ALHS out-hit SDHS, 11-8, including a 4-1 edge in extra-base hits.
Grant MacCharles went 4 2/3 innings, and he allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits.
MacCharles issued six walks and registered five strikeouts.
Jacob Castanon closed out the game, and he was charged with two runs on two hits and three walks.
Castanon fanned a pair of San Dimas batters.
James Rocha scored, had an RBI double in the fifth, and in the seventh, he was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
Josh Calcanas walked and singled.
Eleazar Santillan went 3-for-4 with a run and one RBI.
Louie Farias singled and scored.
Aaden Escarcega drew a pair of walks and singled.
Micah Cooper walked and scored two runs.
AJ Larios drew three walks and scored a pair of runs.
Anderson Markese had an RBI single.
Rocha was stuck with the loss after allowing eight runs (seven earned) on six hits over three innings of work.
Rocha hit two batters, walked a pair, and fanned a trio of Lions.
Luke Proctor was hit by pitch, scored and had a two-run single in the fourth.
Matt Perez walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Logan Sein went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Jacob Cerecerez walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in one run.
Lukas Spence had an RBI single and an RBI double.
Matt Torres was hit by pitch and scored.
Vincent Cantu walked, singled, scored and was hit by pitch twice, including once with the bases loaded.
Silas Granados drew a pair of walks, doubled in a run and scored twice.
Edward Garbo drew a walk, was hit by pitch, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.
