Baseball:
After spotting their visitors from Upland with two first-inning runs, Chino Hills cruised to a 7-3 victory in the Baseline League opener for both programs.
Jacob Hernandez went the first three innings, and he was charged with two runs on three hits.
Hernandez walked two and fanned a pair of UHS batters.
Brody Buoncristiani earned the win after going four innings and being charged with an unearned run on two hits.
Buoncristiani issued one walk and registered five strikeouts.
As mentioned, Upland got out to an early 2-0 lead thanks to solo home runs in the first inning by Ryan May and Carson Kinnick.
Dylan Trejo doubled and scored.
Andrew Armendarez walked and singled.
Max Topete singled once in the loss.
Andrew Weber was charged with five runs (one earned) on four hits over 4 1/3 innings.
Weber walked one and struck out a trio of Huskies.
With a 3-2 lead, Jayden Kim doubled in three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Branden Kim walked, doubled in a run and scored.
Andrew Baldomino doubled and scored.
Brody Buoncristiani walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Jacob Jimenez walked, scored and drove in a run on a sac fly.
