College Baseball:
Citrus College has become the only SGV area program this season to reach the 20-win plateau on Thursday.
And they’re one of 17 of the nearly 90 JC programs in California to accomplish that feat thus far in 2026.
The Owls secured a 14-7 WSC South Division victory over their visitors from LA Mission.
With a 7-5 lead, Citrus scored seven times in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Connor Luetto earned his fourth win after going six innings and allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits.
Luetto issued two walks and registered six strikeouts.
Rickly Rodriguez hit a solo home run and had an RBI ground out.
Adrian Jaime went 2-for-4 with a double, triple, run and two RBIs.
Ray Perez singled, doubled and scored.
Julian Weiss had a pair of singles in the loss.
Erik Polanco had an RBI double and scored.
Josh Rodriguez walked, singled and scored.
Douglas Zuniga singled and had an RBI ground out in the ninth inning.
Jack Nelson got the start, and he was charged with six runs on eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.
Nelson walked five and fanned four.
Uriel Reyes was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on four hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Reyes issued a pair of walks and struck out three Citrus batters.
Cole West singled twice, tripled and scored a pair of runs.
Derek Almeda singled, tripled and crossed the plate two times.
Beau Lloyd singled, doubled and drove in five runs.
Jackson Gray went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, three runs and three RBIs.
Nick Velazquez drew four walks, singled and scored two runs.
Lance Armijo walked and had a three-run double in the seven-run eighth inning.
Royce Mendoza singled in a run and scored twice.
Cam Casado walked, singled and scored.
Dominic Torrez walked, singled and scored.
Up next: The Owls head back to LA Mission on Friday for the third and final game of this three-game WSC series.
