Baseball:
Glendora spent day one of their Spring Break in Irvine.
And they headed back to the 91741 with a 13-4 victory over Portola in six innings.
GHS out-hit PHS, 11-6, although the Bulldogs had a 3-1 advantage in extra-base hits.
Andy Flores went five of the six innings, and he was charged with one run on three hits.
Flores issued one walk and registered three strikeouts.
Portola got to Alan Ohno for three runs on three hits and two walks in just 1/3 of an inning.
Troy Norman got the final two outs after walking the first batter he faced, both coming via strikeout.
Elijah Serrano doubled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Yoshi Tsuge singled and scored.
DJ Nguyen went 1-for-2 with a run and two RBIs, including one sac fly.
Brendan Villanueva walked and doubled.
Ryan Novak singled and drew a bases loaded walk.
Caden Radus also drew a walk with the bases juiced in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Justin Tokko got the loss after surrendering eight runs (five earned) on four hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Tokko walked four and struck out one Tartan.
GHS got to Makai Liang for five runs on seven hits over 2 2/3 innings.
Liang issued two walks and registered a pair of strikeouts.
Jude Garcia went 3-for-3, was hit by pitch, doubled, scored two runs and had one RBI.
Aidan Yamazaki and Jayden Proctor singled and scored one run apiece.
Diego Garza went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
Johnny Jabbour singled and scored two runs.
Riley Cooper walked and scored.
John Seader was hit by pitch with the bases loaded, walked twice and scored.
Seader also stole two bases.
Troy Norman drew a bases loaded walk and scored.
Josh Kim singled in a run and scored.
Tanner Grable had an RBI single in the five-run third inning.
Santiago Garza walked, singled, stole two bases and scored a pair of runs.
Sebastian Lawrence walked and drove in a run on a first inning sac fly.
Diego Flores had an RBI ground out and Preston Tymchak drew a bases loaded walk.
