College Baseball:
Mt. SAC saw three of its pitchers combine on a three-hit shutout, as the Mounties cruised to an 11-0 South Coast Conference victory over East Los Angeles College on Thursday.
Hudson Castillo went seven innings to earn the win and he allowed three runs.
Castillo didn’t issue a walk and registered three strikeouts.
Seth Sumner struck out the side in the eighth.
And Cash Carroll went a scoreless and hitless ninth, including one strikeout to close out the 10th SCC victory of the season.
Israel Espinoza, Daniel Quiroz and Jose Guzman had one hit apiece to account for the Huskies offense.
Quiroz got the loss after surrendering two runs (one earned) on five hits over six innings of work.
He walked one and fanned one MSAC batter.
The Mounties held a 2-0 lead before scoring nine times in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Tyler Primanto went 3-for-4 with three runs and a three-run double.
Jackson Giacone walked, scored twice, hit a solo home run and he drew a bases loaded walk.
Brock Foulds had an RBI single in the seventh.
Hudson Karczynski went 2-for-4 with a walk, run and one RBI.
Andrew Alva walked and scored.
Luca Lombardi drew a bases loaded walk and scored.
Isaac Fanoga was hit by pitch with the bases full, and he scored one run.
Terrell Jackson Jr. went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Brady Stull pinch ran in the seventh and scored.
Frankie Brazil singled and scored.
Nick Mejia has one single in the win.
Up next: The Mounties go for the three-game sweep on Saturday at noon at ELAC.
