Baseball:
Rancho Cucamonga snapped a three-game losing streak with a 6-4 victory over their visitors from Walnut.
The Cougars scored six combined runs in the second and third innings, and Grant Thomas, Jax Nelson and Mason Sanchez made that lead stand up.
Thomas went 4 1/3 innings and he was charged with three runs (two earned) on six hits.
Thomas walked two and fanned four WHS batters.
Nelson was charged with one run on two hits over 1 2/3 innings.
Sanchez got the final three outs, including one via strikeout.
Adam Lenero doubled and scored.
Dillanger Sanchez walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Dillan Lobo went 1-for-3 with a walk and one RBI.
JJ Rodriguez had an RBI single.
Jacob Rodriguez singled in a run and scored.
Dillan Lobo and Manny Aguilar has one hit and one RBI apiece.
Christopher Madrid singled for the Mustangs.
JJ Rodriguez was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on eight hits over two innings.
Rodriguez walked three and fanned one RCHS batter.
All nine Cougars’ batters had at least one hit.
Richie Duran walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Caleb Medrano went 2-for-3 with a run and two RBIs.
Rowan Suchanek, Trevor Newman and Ryan Peralta singled and scored one run apiece.
Thomas singled, doubled and drove in a run on a sac fly.
Chad Tanner had a two-run single in the third inning.
Ethan Diaz walked and singled in a run.
Jared Mock walked and singled.
