Maranatha and their hosts from Heritage Christian entered Tuesday’s showdown with identical 3-0 records in Olympic League play.
And the Minutemen headed back to Pasadena with a 14-2 beatdown over the Warriors in six innings.
MHS out-hit HC, 16-8, including a 5-0 advantage in extra-base hits.
Dylan Hoang went all six innings, and he was charged with two runs on eight hits.
Hoang issued a pair of walks and registered three strikeouts.
Colter Hirtensteiner walked, singled and scored.
Nick Boldt went 3-for-3.
Noah Arreola singled and scored.
Christian Boldt had an RBI single in the third inning.
Isaac Patterson had an RBI ground out in the sixth.
Christian Ahuja got roughed up for nine runs on eight hits and two walks over 2 1/3 inning to get the loss.
Moses Alvarez had a monster game.
Alvarez scored three runs, had a two-run single and a three-run HR.
Noe Zavala went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, two runs and an RBI.
Gabe Barragan singled twice, tripled, scored twice and drove in one.
Will Suslow went 2-for-4 with a walk, double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Bryce Greeting doubled in a run and scored.
Trevor Rivas went 3-for-5 with one run and a pair of RBIs.
Yahir Treto drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.
Will Higginbotham walked and scored.
Jayden Morales walked and singled, and Lukus Perez had one hit in the win.
Up next: The Minutemen host Heritage Christian on Thursday evening at 5.
