Softball:
Los Osos got out to an early lead and Kira Cooper did the rest in a 6-1 victory over Canyon Springs.
Cooper went the distance in the circle, and she surrendered an unearned run on three hits.
Cooper didn’t issue a walk and registered 10 strikeouts.
Seventy-eight of her 113 pitches were strikes.
Cooper struck out nine separate batters at least once.
Alyssa Ramos had an RBI triple.
Maria Argueta reached on an error and scored.
Elizabeth Glover doubled and Rebeca Lucena singled.
Kendall Valdez was charged with four unearned runs on five hits over the first two innings to get the loss.
Valdez didn’t give a free pass and fanned one LOHS batter.
Jenavieve Martin went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
Josselyn Ludwig doubled and scored.
Morgan Cube singled and scored.
Charlize Hardy doubled in a pair of runs.
