Baseball:
Rio Hondo Prep cruised to a 10-1 victory at Orange Glen on
Saturday.
The Kares led 6-0 before the Patriots scored their lone run in the bottom of the fourth.
Nate Harwood went 5 2/3 innings and allowed just an unearned run on one hit.
Harwood issued one walk and registered eight strikeouts to earn the win.
Deven Gomez got the final four outs, including two via strikeout.
Isaac Martinez had an RBI single to drive in Nick Cardenas.
Cardenas got the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits over three hits.
He walked two and fanned a trio of RHP batters.
Easton Jara went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs.
Landon Scott singled, had an RBI triple and scored a pair of runs.
Yanick Diaz drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Aiden Delgadillo went 1-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
Jacob Gomez had a two-run single and scored.
Calogero Chico walked and scored.
Deven Gomez had a pair of singles and one RBI.
Julian Rodriguez singled in a run and scored.
Up next: The Kares open Prep League play on Tuesday, as they host Poly at 3:15.
