Baseball:
Mason Sanchez and Tanner Henne teamed up on the mound to lead Rancho Cucamonga to a 2-1 victory at Glendora.
RCHS got runs in the top of the first and third innings and the Cougars duo would make that stand up.
Sanchez got the win after going 3 1/3 innings, and he allowed one run on six hits.
He issued four walks and registered two strikeouts.
Henne earned the save with 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief on two hits and one walk.
Riley Cooper went 3-for-3 with a walk and an RBI triple in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Jude Garcia singled twice and scored.
John Seader walked and singled.
Tanner Grable and Santiago Garza had one hit apiece for GHS.
Andres Flores got the loss after surrendering two runs (one earned) on four hits over 3 1/3 innings.
Flores walked two and fanned a pair of Cougars.
Jude Garcia (2 1/3 IP) and Santiago Garza (1) combined to provide 3 2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
Garcia and Garza allowed one hit and struck out one batter apiece.
Beau Briggs had an RBI single in the top of the first and an RBI double in the third.
Rowan Suchanek singled and scored.
Richie Duran walked and singled.
Caleb Medrano and Chad Tanner singled in the win.
Grant Thomas reached on an error and scored on Briggs’ double.
Up next: The Cougars and Tartans will both be in action on Friday.
RCHS travels to Northview, and GHS visits San Marino.
