College Baseball:
It took 13 innings to accomplish.
But Citrus was able to hand Ohlone College its first loss of the 2026 season.
The Owls matched the Renegades two runs apiece in the eighth and ninth innings, and they scored once in the bottom of the 13th to secure a 9-8 victory.
The game featured 17 runs, 27 hits, four errors, 10 pitchers and 10 extra-base hits.
Conner Luetto went the first 6 2/3 innings, and he was charged with four runs on six hits.
Luetto didn’t issue a walk, and he struck out nine Ohlone batters.
Matthew Martinez earned the win after providing three scoreless and hitless innings in relief.
Martinez didn’t walk anyone and registered one strikeout.
Teo Thompson went 3-for-6 with three runs and a solo HR.
Julian Cambra singled, tripled and scored a pair of runs.
Chuy Vasquez walked, singled, scored and had an RBI triple in the third to get the Renegades on the board.
Emmett Johnson single in a pair of runs in the ninth to give Ohlone and 8-6 lead.
Derek Bain went 2-for-5, including a run and an RBI single.
Christian Murphy singled and he was hit by pitch with the bases loaded.
Matthew Foley went five innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits.
Foley walked three and fanned three Citrus batters.
Bryce Monte was saddled with the loss after surrendering one run on five hits over four innings.
Monte issued a pair of walks and struck out three.
Jordan Daniels had a two-run double in the eighth and an RBI single in the ninth.
Cam Casado had a big day, going 3-for-7 with three doubles, three RBIs and he scored one run.
Matt Kaneshiro and Derek Almeda doubled and scored one run apiece.
Julian Hines drew a pair of walks, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Cole West walked, singled three times and scored.
Beau Lloyd drew two walks and scored twice.
Nick Velazquez walked and scored.
Jackson Gray doubled and Garrett Patterson singled in the win.
Up next: The Renegades and Owls will meet up today (Saturday) at noon at Citrus College.
