Wrestling:
Two athletes from 210 Prep Sports programs earned CIF-SS Inland Division individual titles this past weekend.
In fact, they were the only finalists from our coverage zone.
That short list consisted of West Covina’s Aaron Contreras and Northview’s Elias Flores.
Contreras went 5-0 to secure the 106-pound title.
Contreras pinned his first three opponents, and then, the No. 3 seed defeated No. 2 Kaleb Ortiz (La Habra), 10-0, in the semifinal round.
Contreras would go on to defeat Chaparral’s Julian Bigueur, 15-11 in the title bout.
Flores looked every bit the No. 1 seed at 126 pounds.
Flores reeled off four consecutive pins, three of which were in the first period.
In the title bout, Flores secured a dominant 17-2 victory over No. 3 seeded David Golz of Trabuco Hills.
Chino’s Zach Samano (120), Jonathan Madera (132) and Nathan Cauwel (144) won individual championship, and they tied Chaparral for most program titles on Saturday.

113: Andrew Reyes (Pacifica) def. Ethan Duenas (La Serna), 11-0.
120: Zach Samano (Chino) def. Josiah Leyvas (La Serna), 4-1.
126: Elias Flores (Northview) def. David Golz (Trabuco Hills), 17-2.
132: Jonathan Madera (Chino) def. Maddox Dalebout (Beckman), 12-2.
138: Jonah Guerra (Montclair) def. Oliver Benninghoff (Trabuco Hills), 5-1.
144: Nathan Cauwel (Chino) pinned Jacob Dalton (Heritage) at 2:39.
150: Damen Vollmer (Temecula Valley) pinned Isaac Hernandez (Valley View) at 1:53.
157: Andrew Martinez (Chaparral) def. Gavin Meraw (Aliso Niguel), 4-1.
165: Ehren Thompson (Chaparral) def. Lincoln Casas (El Modena), 10-5.
175: Ashton Lassig (Temecula Valley) def. Kelen Stever (San Clemente), 10-3.
190: Dylan Natceli (Chaparral) def. Demetri Clark (Temecula Valley), 3-2.
215: Kaden Cryer (Moreno Valley) pinned Jaxon Smith (Chaparral) at 3:40.
285: Andrew De La Torre (Moreno Valley) def. Jaeden Rodriguez (Temecula Valley), 9-3.
Baseball: Glendora had one CIF-SS baseball championship in its history before 2025. On Saturday evening, the Tartans go for their second CIF title in as many years.
