Wrestling:

Thanks to Damien for these results of area wrestlers at this past weekend’s CIF-SS Southern Division Individuals.

There was one individual champ and four runner-up finishes.

Damien’s Nathan Solorio continued his excellence on Saturday.

Solorio improved to 43-1 after securing the 113-pound championship.

Solorio won his first four matches via pinfall.

Three of the four came in less than one minute.

Solorio would dominated Etiwanda’s Deegan Bell, 17-0, in the 113-pound title bout.

The Damien star is ranked No. 13 in the state at his weight class.

Etiwanda finished fourth as a program, including runners up at 106, 113 and 285 pounds.

Before dropping his title bout, Bell had gone 3-0 with two pins and a major decision.

At 106 pounds, Hesperia’s David Preciado pinned Etiwanda’s Nathaniel Garcia at 3:08.

Garcia has wins via decision, tech fall and one pin.

EHS heavyweight Carlos Sutton fell narrowly, 4-1, to Centennial’s Angel Rodriguez in the 285-pound title bout.

Sutton pinned three opponents and had a tech fall in the other.

Xavier Brooks (Laguna Beach) pinned Damien’s Daniel Caso at 1:02 in their 215-pount title tilt.

Caso pinned two early competitors and had one decision victory.
