Girls Wrestling:

Northview had a program-best four CIF-SS Central Division Individual champions at the two-day meet at San Dimas High School.

The Lady Vikings also won the Central Division’s team title as well.

Top-Seeded Sophia Lazaro had three pins and a tech fall to earn a title spot.

In the 105-pound championship match, Lazaro defeated Canyon’s Tessa Fortenbaugh, 8-0, on Saturday.

Mia Hooper looked every bit the No. 1 seed at 125 pounds.

Hooper tallied five pins, a tech fall, and she stuck No. 6 Lei’ani Jaime (San Dimas) at 1:50.

Juliet Salazar (135) got a first-round bye, followed by a pin, and an 11-6 decision in the quarterfinal.

Salazar closed out her individual championship with a pin over Isabella Dipippo (Trabuco Hills) in the semifinal, and a stick of Mira Costa’s Ruby Dominguez at 2:30.

And Jules Sitani claimed the Vikings fourth title.

Sitani pinned her first four opponents before edging Aliso Niguel’s Josephine Rettich, 2-1, in the 145-pound title bout.

At the 2025 CIF State Championships, Northview’s Sumaya Lazaro pinned West Covina’s Julie Cimarusti in 54 seconds to deny the Bulldogs star a chance to place.

In 2026, Cimarusti, the No. 2 seed, pinned her first four opponents.

In the top half of the bracket, Lazaro, ranked first, tallied three pins and one major decision to set up a rematch with Cimarusti in the final.

This time around, Cimarusti claimed a 13-9 victory over Lazaro in the 140-pound title match.

San Dimas had one champion.

Aubreyelle Baeza was awarded a first-round bye, and then she reeled off four consecutive pins to earn the 190-pound championship.

All four pins came in the first period, including a stick of San Clemente’s Madison Diaz in just 30 seconds in the title bout.
