Water Polo:
Bonita opened the CIF-SS playoffs in dominating form.
The Bearcats cruised to a 14-4 victory over their visitors from Martin Luther King of Riverside.
BHS led 7-1 at the break, and they took an 11-2 advantage into the fourth period.
Roxanna Jimenez and Peyton Ashby led the Bonita charge with four goals apiece.
Isla Romero chipped in with three goals.
Natalie Rosen had a solid game in goal.
Rosen totaled 11 saves on Thursday.
Kennedy O’Connell, Vivianna Velasquez and Sophia Quezada scored one goal apiece in the win.
Up next: The Bearcats will host Westridge on Tuesday in a second-round contest.
The Tigers (19-6) edged visiting Ventura, 12-11, on Friday.
